Logo Re-design

This assignment served as a starting point for our own brand development and to help us understand the importance and functionality of symbols, words, and what they say to an audience.
We researched companies that had unsuccessful logos due to ineffective design and collected 3 to 5 examples.

We then did some research on these companies in order to determine their story and see what they were really all about. Finally, we selected one of these companies and redesigned their logo.

I selected a company called Woodstream. This company is a North American manufacturer of wood-plastic composites that helps plastic injection molders to transition to more economic and environmentally friendly materials. These wood-plastic composites can be used and applied for many things such as packaging and transportation, consumer goods, construction, and automotive. Their products are stronger, lighter, cheaper, and greener than regular plastics.

This company has a lot of potential and can do very well in the long run. I believe that with a new logo, their story can be reinforced and the company can look more professional.

The redesigned logo is a combination of solid and organic shapes that convey an environmentally responsible and professional company that is willing to help other companies save money, reduce emissions, and become conscientious.
